‘Leave Lexy Alone!’: Fans Defend Alexis Skyy After She Shares Tale of ‘Good Deed’ and Critics Attack Her Post

Supporters of “Love and Hip Hop: New York” star Alexis Skyy aren’t here for detractors belittling her apparent acts of kindness to an Atlanta homeless woman and her baby.

Although some celebrities get a bad reputation for apparently being out of touch with reality, there are some who do good deeds, and Skyy happens to be one of them. She took to Instagram Monday evening and shared a story about a homeless woman by the social media name of “Americasnextoprah” she met on Sunday.

The woman claimed via Instagram that she and her infant son were evicted from their apartment on Friday and had nowhere to go. She said all of the shelters she attended after picking up her son from day care “had no vacancy until Monday morning” and they were forced to sleep outside. The single mother also said there were different organizations and people pulling up to help them and Skyy happened to be among the many.

The 25-year-old reality star said she was on her way to breakfast when she noticed the woman and her apparent toddler son were homeless.

“It broke my heart,” Skyy said via her Instagram post. She apparently took the woman’s son to her home after asking her for permission, then bathe and fed the child. She brought the baby back to his mother and put them in “a hotel for a few days.”

“I was able to sleep knowing that they wouldn’t be outside. I’m thankful I’m able to help ♥️,” the television personality added.

Although some fans applauded Skyy for her account of this act of charity, others slammed her for airing the story publicly.

“Somethings just don’t need to be told to the world 🙄. You could’ve just helped her without making a post about it.”

“Really Alexis just wants attention 🙆. She didn’t have to put this on social media.

Others however jumped to Skyy’s defense.

“Leave Lexy alone! We need more people willing to do this 💙 God humble this wicked people in these comments.”

“Y’all talk about this girl all the time smh even when she help. It’s good tho Alexis even the good gets hate sometime 🙏🏾❤️.”

The Atlanta woman updated social media on her status and said she and her son received over $2,000 in donations that allowed her to extend her hotel stay. She also apparently found a job and started orientation on Tuesday. She didn’t disclose any personal details about her occupation.

As for Skyy, she said she will be holding a charity drive on Wednesday, July 31, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Atlanta on Ethel Street, apparently at the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children. She’ll be collecting clothes, food, tents, water and toiletries.
