It seems social media is already playing matchmaker for soon-to-be divorced singer Monica Brown.
It’s no secret the “Commitment” artist and her husband, ex-NBA star Shannon Brown, called it quits in late March after nearly nine years of marriage. Folks were devastated to learn their “favorite” couple was on the outs, but Monica, on the other hand, doesn’t appear to be crying over spilled milk, according to her fans.
The singer recently posted a set of photos of herself and Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry together at his “Friends and Celebrity Game” baseball event that apparently took place over the weekend. Monica told her followers she attended the affair with her 11-year-old son Romelo Hill for a mother-and-son trip, but they seemed to be more concerned with her and Landry’s relationship with each other.
In one of the photos the singer posted the football player had his arm around her shoulders, and in another image, which was black-and-white, Landry was seen holding an umbrella for her as they seemingly walked together on the baseball field.
In her post, she thanked the NFL player for inviting her to the event, writing, “Thank you @juice_landry for inviting me to be the only female on #TeamLandry … No cute shyt we got SOAKED LOL but we got the win!!!” … We all had a ball… #MeloAndMommy #MommaSonTrip.”
Fans instantly bombarded Monica’s post with reactions to her and Landry’s pictures.
“Yall look cute together@monicabrown. 😎 THAT 2nd PIC SO DOPE 🤐.”
“Ok @monicabrown he’s handsome😊❤ He tryna get you choose lol I likeeeee.”
“Nice looking couple here. #theyprollyjustfriends #dont@me #ijstheylookcute 🤷🏽♀️.”
“Who that? That’s a good look Mo 👀 #couplegoals 😍🔥.”
Since filing for divorce from her estranged husband Shannon, the singer said during a recent episode of “T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle,” that she’s focused on her children more than anything and hinted at their marriage being over for good.
The pair have been extremely quiet about their divorce, making it unclear why they’ve decided to split in the first place.
Despite their ongoing divorce, the 38-year-old mother of three still dedicated a sweet Father’s Day post to her estranged husband, writing, “Happy Fathers Day @__shannon__brown__ from the second Laiyah was born you wanted to give her everything & make sure Rock & Melo wanted for nothing! You have treated them all as a part of you. That’s an attribute to be appreciated & respected forever 🖤.”
