Tiffany Haddish isn’t beyond showing nudity on screen if it involves a lot of money and it’s done in the right way.
It’s something she said during “The Hollywood Reporter’s Comedy Actress Roundtable,” which also included Regina Hall and Maya Rudolph.
The way Haddish sees it, showing her body on screen is no big deal, because she’ll only have it for a certain period of time so why not make money from it?
“I mean, I’m just borrowing this flesh suit. I am going to give this back to the Lord anyway,” she reasoned. “Might as well share it if I can feed my family and whatnot.”
But whatever project calls for nudity, it better not be raunchy or Haddish wants nothing to do with it. And if it is less than classy, her paycheck should have a lot of zeros on it.
“If it’s, like, a classy situation, yeah, but if it’s some super-raunchy nasty stuff, it better be freakin’ hilarious, and I better be getting paid,” she added during the discussion, which airs June 23 on Sundance TV.
As for the nudity thing, the 39-year-old “Nobody’s Fool” star explained why she hasn’t done a scene with her clothes off yet.
“Because ain’t nobody came with the right kind of money,” she stated.
Haddish is known for her light-hearted spirit, but on an upcoming appearance on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman on Netflix, the comedian got emotional as she talked about her mother who she says changed after surviving a horrific car accident that resulted in her having to learn to walk, talk and eat all over again.
The “Girl’s Trip” star was 8 years old at the time.
“I didn’t want to be with my mom no more,” Haddish recalled. “She had became very violent and very verbally abusive. You never knew who she was going to be. Every day was like a different day.”
She continued. “I used to think she was demonized. I thought like maybe someone else jumped inside her body, like ‘Where’s my mommy?’ She’s gone.”
The series will be available May 31.
