NEW YORK (AP) — Jay-Z will help re-open the newly renovated Webster Hall concert venue in New York City with his “B-Sides 2” show.
Webster Hall has been closed for three years due to extensive reconstruction, however, the news of Jay-Z performing at the venue means that the hiatus is no more.
Webster Hall shared the news via Instagram with a black and white video that zooms into the venue’s marquee with Jay-Z’s name.
The caption reads, “JAY-Z is opening Webster Hall with ‘B-Sides 2’ on Friday, April 26 for Day 1 fans. AMEX Card Members can get tickets on 4/18 at 10am ET before the public onsale on 4/19 at 11am ET.”
Jay-Z fans appeared to be very excited about the special announcement.
“Can’t I get a ticket 🙌🏾🙌🏾”
“My Birthday month can’t get any better than this!!!! THANK YOU!!!!”
“it’s so lit!!! talking bout a come back 😩😩”
“O M G 🙌🏾🙌🏾”
The “B-Sides 2” show will seemingly have Jay-Z perform songs that he rarely performs live. His last “B-Sides” show was actually held in 2015 at New York’s Terminal 5.
This show also comes on the heels of a previous announcement that Jay-Z will be headlining the 50th anniversary of Woodstock alongside Chance the Rapper, India.Aire, Common and many others.
The “B-Sides 2” show targets “Day 1” fans and will be held April 26. It will be Jay-Z’s first time performing at the venue located in Manhattan’s East Village.
Webster Hall has operated as a venue since 1886. Others set to perform there include Patti Smith and Her Band, Rosalia, MGMT, Empire of the Sun, Old Dominion and Chromeo.
The concert hall says in a press release that the recent renovation “aims to preserve the iconic features of the venue, while modernizing it to meet today’s entertainment and guest experience standards.”
