Tamron Hall wished her former “Today” colleague Kathie Lee Gifford well wishes after the 65-year-old announced she’ll be leaving the show in April.
On Tuesday, December 11, Hall posted a photo from 2013 of herself, Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Gifford donning red tracksuits. The screen grab of the former colleagues posing together was sweet, but Hall’s farewell message to Gifford was arguably more heartfelt.
“Sending love and hugs to @kathielgifford! Thank you for always offering support, love and advice,” the former Today anchor wrote on her Instagram page. “Wishing you nothing but the best as you take on a new chapter. Some of the best memories I had at Today were because of your infectious joy. God Bless.”
Hall’s fans were elated over her supportive memo to Gifford, while others suggested that Hall make a return back to the show following Gifford’s exit in 2019.
“We miss you on Today Show Tamron 😄,” one person commented.
Another added, “We want Tamron to take Kathie Lee’s place. Add some more intelligence and beauty. Hoda isn’t enough although we love her billions ❤️.”
“Oh My GOD !!! YES !!! Perfect match !!!TAMRON & HODA !
rather, HODA & TAMRON ! God’s Blessings 🙏♥️🎄!!” another person commented.
One fan even tagged the Today show’s official Instagram page and wrote, “Bring Tamron BACK!! We miss her!!! She needs that 9am hour!”
Hall, 48, left “Today” in February 2017 after NBC reportedly replaced her with Megyn Kelly. The former anchor did not cry over spilled milk and focused on her project opportunities such as developing her own day-time talk show host with Disney ABC that’s expected to launch in Fall of 2019.
In a 2017 statement released by NBC, Hall stated, “The last 10 years have been beyond anything I could have imagined, and I’m grateful. I’m also very excited about the next chapter. To all my great colleagues, I will miss you and I will be rooting for you.”
