Al Roker Doesn’t Want Megyn Kelly’s Time Slot, ‘It’s Offensive That NBC Would Assume He Would’

Al Roker doesn’t want to replace Megyn Kelly in the third hour of “Today” after she was fired.

Last month NBC terminated Kelly for saying it was okay to wear blackface on Halloween. One year prior, the network canceled Roker and Tamron Hall‘s show “Today’s Take” to make room her show, which is something Hall quit over.

Recently, there were reports that stated the famed weatherman would be returning to the third hour of the morning show after Kelly’s firing, but there’s a good chance that won’t happen based on his current level of interest.

“[Roker] doesn’t necessarily want to return,” said an inside source. “It’s honestly quite offensive that NBC would just assume he would want [to].”

At the moment, Kelly is still negotiating her settlement with NBC, and she reportedly asked for $25 million, plus, an additional $10 to sign a gag order. But her lawyer denied those reports and said the ousted host never asked for more money than her contract stipulates.

“Despite my efforts to handle this process confidentially, NBC News is allowing the media to run with completely false and irresponsible reports that disparage Megyn by erroneously claiming she has ever asked for more money than her contract requires,” said Bryan Freedman.

“If NBC News is not the source then they have a responsibility as a news division to correct these false claims. Or are they somehow attempting to use these fabrications for some fictitious advantage in the discussions we’re having?”

Roker hasn’t said anything about whether he wants to replace Kelly or not.
