Marlo Hampton was rumored to be getting her peach for the 11th season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” but when the official casting news dropped, she was left off the list.
Now, a report claims to have the reason why Hampton has not been added as a full-time member of the long-running Bravo show.
Sources told the Jasmine Brand Monday, Nov. 5, that Marlo dropping a homophobic slur during an argument with former “RHOA” star Shereé Whitfield has prohibited her from getting a peach.
“And anyway, that’s why you don’t have a man, Go and hang with them f—–s with your ugly, stupid ass,” Hampton said to Whitfield in a season 4 episode during a dispute on a trip to South Africa about why Hampton wasn’t invited to the She by Shereé creator’s bash.
Hampton also dropped the slur again that season during Cynthia Bailey’s anniversary party with her hairstylist, Miss Lawrence, present.
The friend of the show issued a lengthy apology on her blog at the time, saying in part, “I would like to offer from the bottom of my heart the fullest and most heartfelt apology for my recent use of an anti-gay slur. When I used this word, I was not mindful of the demeaning connotation that this has in the gay community. My speech was irresponsible, thoughtless and said with the intention of conveying anger rather than as a statement on my feelings towards the gay community as a whole.”
But the remark was said to have made Andy Cohen, who is an executive producer of “RHOA,” furious, according to a source.
“Not only was Andy upset, but it was damaging with the LGBTQ viewers and execs at the network,” the insider said.
Still, when RHOA debuted its new season Sunday, Nov. 4, fans were wondering why Hampton doesn’t have a peach.
“Marlo still doesn’t have a damned peach!? I don’t understand #RHOA.”
“Why ain’t Marlo got a 🍑 yet😕 #rhoa.”
“Marlo didn’t get a peach this season? She’s like everyone’s favorite aunty #RHOA.”
“Eva gets a peach 🍑 but not Marlo??!! I don’t get it… #RHOA.”
