Pooch Hall has been charged in the DUI accident that found him with his toddler in his lap steering the wheel of his car.
The “Ray Donovan” star was charged with one felony count of child abuse and “one misdemeanor count each of driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol content” Deadline reported the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office announced Wednesday, Oct. 24. TMZ reported, however, that Hall had a 0.25 blood alcohol level when he was arrested earlier this month.
If Hall is found guilty, he could spend up to six years in state prison. District Attorney Jackie Lacey is asking the L.A. Superior Court to set bail at $100,000.
This is the latest development in the headline-making collision Hall had on the night of Oct. 3. At the time, Hall was driving drunk with his 2-year-old son on his lap rather than buckled in a car seat in the back of his sedan. Hall veered off the road and his Chrysler 300 slammed into a parked car.
The former “The Game” star was charged at the scene and his son, who was crying when the accident happened but wasn’t hurt, was released to his mother, Hall’s wife. The actor was later released on $100,000 bond.
Hall’s accident spurred an investigation from the Department of Children and Family Services, which wanted to learn if what happened was a one-time thing or if it was ongoing.
Since “Ray Donovan” has wrapped filming for the sixth season, Hall’s legal woes won’t halt production of the Showtime series. It isn’t known, however, how his troubles will affect his role on the show going forward.
