Chris Brown Accused of Trying To Contact Rihanna With New Post: ‘You Still Love Her’

It’s possible that Chris Brown sent Rihanna an Instagram message, several years after they split for the second time.

On Monday the “Loyal” singer showed off a diamond ring, but it wasn’t just the shiny yellow rocks that had folks buzzing, it was what he wrote in the caption space.

“King of the ring,” he wrote. “Shine bright like a diamond.”

Brown pulled the words from Rihanna’s 2012 cut “Diamond,” off her “Unapologetic” album, which many noticed right off the bat.

Some might say that he’ll always be associated with assaulting the Barbadian singer in 2009. It’s something he received five years probation for, as well as community service. He also had to complete domestic violence counseling.

So of course, Brown’s Instagram post got an extra amount of attention and received over 1 million likes in just 11 hours, plus, plenty of comments.

“Just get @badgalriri back,” someone wrote, using Rihanna’s Twitter handle. “I know you’re missing her a lot, and you still love her like crazy.”

Another fan said “Still a fan of Rih and Chris,” and someone else wrote “Breezy loves Rih and I am here for it 👏🏾.”

But some people brought up Brown’s assault charge, and they blasted anyone who tried to defend him.

“You are defending a dude who has laid his hands on a woman and has certainly told other women he will do the same,” someone wrote. “This is the person you stand behind?”

“If this dude couldn’t dance and sing would defend him this much?” another person asked.

Rihanna has yet to comment on the post, and Brown hasn’t explained the “Shine like a diamond” line.
