Newlyweds Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are on the cover of People Magazine.
In the cover photo, Timberlake jumps for joy in his tux as his bride flashes her pearly whites in her pink Giambattista Valli bridal gown. In the exclusive interview, the bride and groom shared some details from their ceremony. Like most newlyweds, the couple gushed about their wedding. “It was really a special evening,” said Timberlake. “There were definitely tears from both of us. There were so many highlights from when I first saw her to standing next to her to taking in everyone’s faces.”
According to the couple, exchanging their vows was equally emotional and hilarious. “I can’t let more than 10 minutes go by without some moments of comedy so they were funny and heartwarming,” said Timberlake. Biel says she felt like she was on an amusement park ride. “It was a mixture of laughter and tears during the ceremony. It was a roller coaster,” Biel added.
Most grooms aren’t excited about wedding planning but Timberlake says the planning for his wedding was a team effort. “We really did this whole thing together,” he said. “She did the soup and I did the nuts. And that we didn’t kill each other, that’s a bonus!”
Biel said the theme for the wedding was “romance, romance, romance” and she made sure her ensemble reflected that theme. “It was very feminine and fun,” said Biel. “I actually surprised myself when I chose my dress. It’s a style I will only ever wear that one day.”
The couple’s first dance was to Donny Hathaway’s “A Song For You”, something the “Rock Your Body” crooner will never forget. “That was one of the really special highlights for me,” said Timberlake. “That happens to be one of my favorite songs of all time and Jess’s as well.” Wedding guests were also treated to music spun by The Roots’ Questlove. “Everyone got their groove on,” says Timberlake. “Our family and friends are as silly, quirky and crazy as we are.”
While the couple had a blast at their wedding, they had to deal with a bit of controversy after a video surfaced of homeless people giving their best wishes to the couple. One of the people, a man named Eddie, claims he was paid by a man claiming to be a friend of the couple. Eddie claims the man paid him $40 and gave him a script to read. The man said he feels like he was tricked. “That makes me feel really bad … that was a trick played on me,” he told TMZ. Although he was not involved in the video, Timberlake issued an apology. “I had no knowledge of its existence. I had absolutely ZERO contribution to it,” he said in a letter posted on his website.
“I want to say that, on behalf of my friends, family, and associative knuckleheads, I am deeply sorry to anyone who was offended by the video. Again, it was something that I was not made aware of. But, I do understand the reaction and, by association, I am holding myself accountable.”
