It’s a “Golden” day for songstress Jill Scott, the judge dismissed her estranged husband’s demand for spousal support and upheld the prenup.

Scott’s ex-husband Mike Dobson, reportedly filed an appeal to have the R&B singer pay $6,500 for his legal fees from the divorce and spousal support. However, his appeal was denied by a Tennessee judge on Monday.

The judge reportedly told Dobson that his legal fees were similar to spousal support and a right he dotted away when he signed the prenup which he tried to have thrown out last year. According to Bossip, the “So In Love” singer’s attorney disclosed that she paid Dobson $20,000 about a week before filing for divorce according to court papers.

“She did not throw him out with nothing… She gave him $20,000 when he left. And during the course of the marriage, she deposited funds into an account – for his benefit,” Scott’s lawyer Rose Palermo said at the hearing.

Dobson later confessed the R&B singer did indeed pay him before their divorce filing but claimed the payment was for “family expenses.”
