Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty has totally set itself apart from other celebrity makeup lines on the market.
The bold new products finally debuted Thursday, Sept. 7, after two years in development and Rih Rih promises the products work on every shade of nude.
“For the gloss, I wanted a color that would work well on all skin tones,” she told Refinery29 of the lip gloss. “And, you know, it might’ve been a challenge, but I was up for it. It took a while, and we had to switch things up to get the right texture, the right smell even. We came to this perfect, rosy-nude that had a little bit of shimmer. It gives you something, but it doesn’t look like you’re doing the most. We’ll do that later.”
The gloss is the only lip product in the line and is available at Sephora and online for $18. In the promo, it can be seen on models with darker skin (Duckie Thot) and lighter skin (Camila Costa) and all the ladies look undeniably fierce in it.

While the lip gloss is certainly poppin’, Rihanna devoted the bulk of her energy to the foundation line. Available in 40 shades, the liquid matte foundation provides medium-to-full coverage and a natural look.
“I … wanted things that girls of all skin tones could fall in love with,” Rihanna said. “That was really important for me. In every product, I was like, ‘There needs to be something for a dark-skinned girl; there needs to be something for a really pale girl; there needs to be something in between.’ There’s red undertones, green undertones, blue undertones, pink undertones, yellow undertones — you never know, so you want people to appreciate the product and not feel like, ‘Oh that’s cute, but it only looks good on her.”
Rihanna’s passion for inclusive products extends throughout the line. The singer’s collection, which includes highlighters, concealers and primers, also zeroed in on skin tones that are usually hard to match.
