Muskogee, Oklahoma, police are investigating a white motorist who followed and attacked a Black woman’s car in a road rage incident.
Motorist Rhonda Johnson and a friend noticed they were being followed on the Muskogee Turnpike from Tulsa to Muskogee Monday, Dec. 26, when they got off and turned into a nearby Walgreens.
“I just thought he was coming the same way we were,” she tells FOX 23 News. “He was in the left lane, the fast lane, and we were just trying to get around.”
But it turns out the white male driving a maroon Nissan Frontier pick-up truck wanted vengeance. When the two pulled into the Walgreens parking lot, the driver got out of his truck and charged at the Johnson’s sedan with a tire iron.
The unidentified male also hurled a storm of racial epithets at Johnson and her passenger before bashing in the woman’s windshield. “He’s calling us everything, all kinds of, you know, bad names,” she says. “I thought it was a gun, actually. It was loud.”
Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the man fled the scene immediately. Johnson, on the other hand, will have to pay a $500 deductible to have her windshield repaired.
