Beyoncé used to be really guarded about her personal life. But through her Tumblr blog, she has shared more glimpses of her world to the masses.
One of her latest shots is a picture of herself at one of her husband’s concerts bottle feeding her baby girl Blue Ivy, the infant wearing a “Watch the Throne” t-shirt for the occasion.
The “Love on Top” singer also posted a couple of shots of herself on a swing, one solo and another with her husband as he pushed the swing while she giggled. She also posted a few snaps of herself goofing around with family and friends, including sister Solange. According to various reports, Beyoncé is filming a documentary about her life.
Despite her relatively carefree life, Beyoncé has been pulled into a bit of controversy. Veteran actor Harry Belafonte recently criticized the star and her husband, accusing them of being socially irresponsible. “It is sad. And I think one of the great abuses of this modern time is that we should have had such high-profile artists, powerful celebrities,” Belafonte said. “But they have turned their back on social responsibility. That goes for Jay-Z and Beyoncé, for example. Give me Bruce Springsteen, and now you’re talking. I really think he is black.”
Neither Beyoncé nor Jay-Z have responded to the comments but a spokesperson for the former Destiny’s Child star released “an abbreviated list of the unselfish work Beyoncé has done and continues to do.”
The list included The Survivor Foundation, “a multi-purpose community outreach facility in downtown Houston” that she co-founded; donating money to victims of Hurricane Ike and the Haitian earthquake and performing at a benefit for the latter. Beyoncé also recently performed her song “I Am Here” at the United Nations for World Humanitarian Day.
She also urged people to honor that were killed in Iran by pledging to do a good deed on August 19. “I’d like to ask everyone to make sure they’re a part of August 19th,” she said at the end of performance. “It’s such a beautiful, beautiful day, and I’d like to honor the 22 people who lost their lives. God bless you all. Thank you so much for having me.”
