Dwyane Wade’s ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches-Wade, has filed a federal lawsuit in Chicago against her ex-husband’s divorce attorney and Dolton police, accusing both parties of framing her for child abduction that led to an alleged false arrest.
Throughout the former couple’s divorce battle, Funches-Wade made headlines for erratic behavior and unusual antics such as protesting she was homeless after Wade refused to increase her support payments.
Eventually, Wade agreed to a $5 million settlement.
Just as it seemed the dust finally began to clear and the nasty drama was over, Wade’s ex is ready to get back in the courtroom.
This time, however, her NBA baller ex-husband is not her target.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Funches-Wade is accusing Wade’s divorce attorney, James Pritikin, of conspiring with Dolton police officers and Mayor Tim Balderman to have her falsely arrested for child abduction.
The lawsuit claims that police officers and Pritikin “worked together in a common plan to cause false charges to be initiated against” Funches-Wade.
The charges were eventually dropped, but Wade’s ex says the damage was already done.
Pritikin used the arrest to argue that Wade should have full custody of the couple’s two sons, Zion and Zaire.
The lawsuit also claims that authorities assaulted Wade’s ex during the arrest.
She claimed that she suffered a torn rotator cuff, an asthma attack and a panic attack after the police officers allegedly roughed her up during the arrest.
She will be acting as her own lawyer in court and is seeking $50,000 for unspecified damages.
