Music and corporate sponsors are back together again. R&B singer and songwriter Ne-Yo have united to promote Malibu’s new drink, Malibu Red. They have produced a five-part series, Ne-Yo’s “R.E.D.” which takes viewers behind the scenes as the R&B superstar creates music and tours the world promoting his new album of the same name “R.E.D.” According to vibe.com:

Besides dominating the air waves with hits like ‘So Sick’ and Pitbull’s ‘Give Me Everything’ while penning chart-toppers for the likes of Rihanna and Beyoncé, the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter stays rooted in his humble beginnings. In his documentary R.E.D. in partnership with Malibu Red, watch Shafeer Smith recall growing up in a household full of women and put his rigorous workout schedule on display.”
The “R.E.D.” documentary series does a good job avoiding the over-the-top product promotion of Malibu Red, which is Malibu Rum infused with Mexican Tequila. The documentary is really more about Ne-Yo and his creative process from start to finish, while the product is tastefully placed throughout the videos.
