Rihanna T-shirt Tribute to 2Pac Provokes Controversy

Rihanna anounced on twitter earlier this week that she was in London working on new material for her upcoming album.

And she’s clearly putting the hours in as yesterday she visited three recording studios, beginning her sessions at 6pm and not emerging to go back to her hotel until after 3am.

But even with her hectic work schedule, the 24-year-old reminded the world she can’t be tamed with a rather obscene T-shirt and shorts combo.

Arriving at a recording studio, she was seen in a grey T-shirt emblazoned with the words ‘cunt life’.

The T-shirt also featured an inking of a gun above the words.

Riri finished off her gangster-inspired outfit with a black beanie hat, black leather jacket and a chunky silver chain around her neck.

Her choice of dress is no doubt a tribute to the late gangsta rapper 2Pac, who died in 1996.

He famously had the words ‘Thug Life’ tattooed on his stomach with a revolver above the words too, just like her top.

Though Rihanna’s critics are likely to condemn her for wearing the rude T-shirt considering so many of her fans look up to her, she has already said she doesn’t see herself as a role model and will therefore continue to live her life as she chooses.

She said: ‘See, people, they want me to be a role model just because of the life I lead.

‘The things I say in my songs, they expect it of me, and (being a role model) became more of my job than I wanted it to be. But no, I just want to make music. That’s it.’
