Halle Berry has tied the knot with her former fiancé Olivier Martinez on Saturday during a small, private ceremony at the gorgeous Chateau des Conde in Vallery, France.
Despite swearing she would never get married again after splitting with Eric Benet in 2005, Berry became a wife for the third (and probably the last) time over the weekend.
Keeping with French law, a civil union was held for Berry and Martinez at 4 p.m. before they kicked off their actual wedding ceremony at 5:30 at the village’s chapel.
Unlike many large celebrity weddings, a very pregnant Halle Berry and her new husband only invited 60 of their closest friends and family including Martinez’s mother and brother.
Of course, Halle’s adorable 5-year-old daughter Nahla was also there, who will become a big sister in just a few more months.
One source told Us Weekly that the ceremony was very “down-to-earth” and “discreet,” but everyone still had a great time.
After the wedding ceremony Berry, Martinez, and their wedding guests took off to enjoy a night of great food, fireworks and dancing.
“They all partied long into the night,” one source said before pointing out that the music from the celebration could be heard until 1 a.m.
It seems like this will be the last time the 46-year-old actress takes a walk down the aisle as many friends and family and colleagues expressed their faith in the couple’s relationship.
“She has called him ‘The One,’” Sophie Dulac, president of the Champs-Elysees Film Festival, said last month. “She’s said she never expected to meet this Frenchman, to fall in love like she has.”
She went on to say Berry and Martinez seem to be “truly in love.”
“I’ve known Olivier very well and have never seen him like this,” Dulac added.
This will be Martinez’s first marriage as he prepares to welcome his first child, rumored to be a baby boy, this fall.
“My son will be an American, but I remain French,” the 47-year-old “Unfaithful” actor told People back in June.
Berry’s daughter Nahla will also continue to be American-raised after courts refused to allow the “Monster’s Ball” actress to move to France with Nahla due to how difficult it would make it for her father, Gabriel Aubrey, to be a part of her life.
The award-winning actress was hoping to move to France with her daughter where there are stricter laws against the paparazzi invading celebrities’ privacy.
