The first footage of Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, an upcoming biopic starring the ever-interesting Daniel Day-Lewis, has finally been released.
Unfortunately, it is not a full trailer. Yes, I was also disappointed. Spielberg has instead opted to release a teaser for the upcoming drama, allowing audiences a glimpse into what the overall “feel” of the movie may be.
The teaser doesn’t show much footage of Day-Lewis as Lincoln – other than what he will look like standing up – but it does provide insight into the actor’s overall portrayal. In place of the gruff and rural voice most people associate with Abraham Lincoln, the film seems to be placing emphasis on how soft-spoken he is. Knowing how in-depth Daniel Day-Lewis can be with his characters, this is probably historically accurate.
The actual trailer will not hit entertainment websites until next week as part of a Google+ hangout, after which Steven Spielberg and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will take part in a group chat about the film.
Be sure to check back next week for the trailer, but in the meantime, enjoy the teaser!
