Will Ferrell is set to return to Saturday Night Live – his old stomping grounds. The SNL veteran will grace the show with his talents once again on May 12, 2012.
This will be the actor’s third time returning to host the TV show since he left the series in 2002. Ferrell started as a regular on SNL in 1995.
During his time on the show, Ferrell became very popular for his impersonations of former President George W. Bush, singer Neil Diamond, the late Senator Ted Kennedy, Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, and Jeopardy host Alex Trebek, among others.
Since his departure from the show, Ferrell’s career has exploded. He starred in several movies including Elf (2003), Old School (2003) and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2008). He’s also done more work on television, appearing on shows such as Family Guy, 30 Rock and The Office.
Usher will be the musical guest for the May 12th show, who will also be returning to SNL for the third time. SNL is currently wrapping up its 37th season.
