It seems nothing could stop a non-Black woman in Durham, North Carolina, from unleashing a stream of slurs at cops, EMS workers, and a group of Black bystanders.
A video posted to Instagram on Sept. 20 by a local hip-hop artist who goes by the handle “god117” captured the meltdown.
“Get the f–k out of here, punk-ass n—er,” the woman screamed at a Black EMS worker as he was trying to assist her. She then called his female co-worker a “fat-a–ed b–ch,” and swung at them both, but missed.

Continuing to argue with anyone within earshot, she dropped the N-word several more times, even as she spoke to police and hobbled around with a medical boot on her foot.
The incident followed an alleged altercation near an historic area in Durham known as “Black Wall Street” (Parrish Street), which was an economic hub for African Americans at the turn of the 20th century. Details of the alleged altercation that prompted the 911 call weren’t immediately available.
“B–ch, what you recording for?” she yelled at the woman filming, adding, “You dumb a– n–er.” In the video, she appeared to be the only non-Black person among a group of nighttime revelers.
A second video posted on Monday showed a group of cops trying to arrest the woman, who was seemingly resisting.
The woman’s boldness left many people on social media baffled.
A top comment read: “That’s why they think they can get away with it because nobody does nothing about it. She should’ve been stopped.”
Critics pointed to what they believed was a racial double standard even among bystanders.
One person wrote, “You see all the coddling going on? Even the POC was coddling her. They would have never gave the BW [Black woman] the same grace.”
The video is circulating as Durham’s police department is under new leadership — Stephanie Mardis, a Black woman, was sworn in as chief on September 8 and has said building community trust is a top priority.
