Gervonta Davis Mocks Rumored Death of Devin Haney’s Mom as Ongoing Feud Intensifies

The hate between champion boxers Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney appears to be very real, and another chapter in the ongoing feud unfolded Sunday.

With rumors circulating online about the death of Haney’s mom, Davis used his Instagram account to mock Haney.

While Haney and his family have not publicly addressed his mother’s rumored passing, the lack of confirmation did not prevent Davis from launching a harsh online response.

“Crazy how buddy talked about my mom only for his mom to check a few weeks later,” Davis wrote in a now-deleted post on his Instagram story, “…now POST THAT.”

Davis followed that by posting a photo, which he also later deleted, of Haney’s mother on his Instagram feed with the caption: “She’s doing the same thing her son did. Went to sleep.”

This continued a series of online posts featuring the boxers disrespecting each other.

Prior to Davis’ posts, he also accused Haney’s mother of having a “pimp” from a rumored X burner account, which has now been deleted.

Haney responded by posting a picture of Davis and his own mother on Father’s Day. In his response, Haney referred to Davis by his nickname “Tank.”

“I’ll post tank dad for father’s day since he won’t…” Haney wrote in a tweet that featured the photo of Davis’ mother. “Happy Father’s Day big tank! thats fu—d up u broke & u made him move out that house!”

Boxing fans have long clamored for a showdown between Haney and Davis, but the two camps have yet to reach a potential agreement. There is also a dispute about what weight they will fight at if such a bout ever occurs.

Haney addressed a potential meeting with Davis in late June.

“I think Gervonta grew some balls.. his team reached out!” Haney wrote in a tweet. “We might just end up fighting!”

Haney’s potential October fight against Keyshawn Davis to defend his welterweight belt fell through in July when Davis backed out over a contract dispute.

Haney, who boasts an undefeated 33-0 record, secured the welterweight belt last November with a unanimous decision over Brian Norman Jr.

As for Davis who holds an undefeated 30-0-1 record, he has been out of the ring since his March 2025 bout against Lamont Roach Jr. His hiatus has been partially due to legal issues.

A planned Netflix special last November between influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul and Davis was scrapped after Davis’ ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, filed a civil lawsuit alleging battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Davis was also arrested in January for an alleged October 2025 altercation with Rossel at a club in Miami. Davis faces felony kidnapping and a misdemeanor battery charge for the incident. The case is still pending.

Leena Sayed, the mother of Haney’s one-year-old daughter, also previously accused him of domestic violence in 2024. Haney later accused Sayed of an extortion plot and filed lawsuits against her.

However, Sayed withdrew a a domestic violence restraining order request and Haney withdrew lawsuits alleging extortion in a July 2026 custody agreement. As part of the agreement, Haney agreed to pay Sayed $20,000 a month in child support.

Haney posted a picture of two bouquets of white flowers on his Instagram story Sunday that appeared to be sent from Sayed’s sister, Ruby.

“Love you brother,” Ruby replied.
