Tia Mowry-Hardrict is known for her famous video reels and fans go crazy when she includes the family. Her latest video featured her daughter, Cairo, but things didn’t go as she planned. The actress attempted to prank her 4-year-old in a video shared on Instagram on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
“Cupcake prank gone wrong,” she labeled at the top of the reel. “I learned a valuable lesson today…never get between Cairo and her cupcakes!!!” she continued in the caption.
The mother-daughter duo stole our hearts in the new clip wearing matching pink dresses. In the clip, Mowry tells Cairo she has to wait before she can eat the red and white cupcake on the table. “Okay, Cairo, I’m gonna put this down. When I count to five that’s when you can grab it, okay” she said.
At five, the “Family Reunion” star quickly grabbed the cupcake and mushed it into her own mouth. “Nooo,” yelled poor Cairo, who began to weep progressively louder while her mother scrambled around the kitchen.
“Mommy’s gonna get you a whole one,” said the 45-year-old as she brought a fresh cupcake to the table. “Don’t cry, Ro.”
Cairo wiped her tears away and they continued eating cupcakes and dancing happily. “No children were hurt by shooting this video,” said Mowry looking directly into the camera.
Fans in the comments were in tears after watching the video, which has over 88,400 likes. Yet many sympathized with Cairo, including one who noticed, “She waited ever so patiently too.” Another wrote, “The instant pout face took me out.” And a third said, “Tia the way I just hollered.” Here’s what others had to say.
