Serena Williams might have reigned victorious in her first-round singles match at the U.S. Open on Monday, Aug. 29, but all some fans could talk about was her adorable matching moment with 4-year-old daughter Alexia Olympia Ohanian Jr.
The mother-daughter duo both rocked a black long-sleeved leotard skirt with a glittery shirt overtop. Olympia also rocked straight back braids with white beads dangling from the ends; similar to Williams’ hairstyle when she won her first U.S. Open in 1999.
In a recorded video uploaded by ESPN, viewers could see the 73 singles titles winner walking onto the tennis court in her all-black gear. Once the camera quickly switched over to her daughter viewers could see her outfit, which replicated her mother’s, as she held up a pink disposable camera while her mom passed by.
Olympia’s excitement over seeing her mother had fans gushing over the adorable moment as well as their identical outfits.
“Serena Williams and Olympia wearing matching dresses.”
“Serena Williams’ daughter with the iconic braids and beads and a matching outfit! [heart eyes]”

“No one can ever beat these mother-daughter matching outfits! #SerenaWilliams #Olympia”
“Serena Williams’ daughter sitting front row at the @usopen, in a matching outfit, taking pictures with her little pink camera is the best thing I’ve seen on my tv all year”
Williams and her daughter match quite frequently on and off the tennis court. Their most recent matching moment was an Instagram video Williams uploaded back in May, when the the two were seen initially rocking gray-and-white dresses that swiftly turned into green ruffle dresses. Williams and her daughter danced together to “Perfect” by singer/songwriter, Ed Sheeran.
The video, which received over 3 million plays and over 300,000 likes, was captioned “My forever bestie @olympiaohanian”
