‘I Don’t Really Know If She’s Going to be Okay with This’: Whoopi Goldberg’s Granddaughter Amara Skye Spills the Tea on the Actress’ Dating Life

Whoopi Goldberg’s granddaughter Amara Skye may have some explaining to do after exposing an unknown tidbit about the actress’ dating history.

Skye was the latest contestant to exit the reality game show “Claim to Fame.” The show’s premise consists of 12 celebrity relatives living under one roof as they rely on clues to determine who the famous family member could be. Skye was in contention to win the $100,000 prize.

While on the show, she hinted at her familial ties to Goldberg through various hints, but one in particular left her questioning if she had gone too far. “The View” host is known for maintaining her privacy despite her celebrity status, something Skye was well aware of when she dropped somewhat of a bombshell.

“She had a boyfriend that was, like, 90 years old, and she used to go hang out with him,” Skye told fellow contestant Loreal “L.C.” Palmer on the Aug. 1 episode. She continued by saying that it was “some old white man named John, and he was like a billionaire. She used to sneak off and have (sex) appointments, randomly.”

The jaw-dropping intel shook Skye as she questioned the possible repercussions of “All day, I literally was just like, ‘Oh my God, did I say this? Is she gonna kill me?’ ” she said. In a solo interview, elsewhere in the episode, she continued, “No one knew about that – I barely found out about that. So I was just like, ‘Oh, man. I think I just put my grandma’s business out there, and I don’t really know if she’s going to be OK with this.’ But my grandma’s really, really cool and pretty open. So, I don’t think I did so bad.”

The EGOT winner has has three public marriages, and been linked to actors Frank Langella and Ted Danson. However, for the past two decades, her private affairs have been just that, private. While Goldberg may not have anticipated her granddaughter sharing certain personal details, she did encourage Skye to be herself while on the show. The artist recounted Goldberg telling her to “go out there, be yourself, be strong, strong-minded.”

And she did, especially while departing the show on the seventh episode. “My grandma’s Whoopi Goldberg — are you f–king kidding me? Who doesn’t want the GOAT as their grandma? Whoopi Goldberg’s the motherf–king GOAT! I’m lit!” she said during her final confessional. Goldberg has yet to publicly address Skye’s public remarks about her dating life.
