‘Wow Look How Grown Jett Is’: Jill Scott Stuns Fans After Sharing Recent Photo of Her Teenage Son, Jett

Jill Scott attended Marsai Martin’s 18th birthday with her 13-year-old son, Jett Hamilton Roberts, in Los Angeles over the weekend. On Tuesday, Aug. 16, the Grammy-winning singer and actress shared photos from the party, dubbed “Marsai’s Kingdom of Far Far Away.”

The mother-son duo understood the assignment, showing up in regal royal looks and crowns on their heads. Scott posed in a silver overcoat, designed by Liberian-born fashion designer Korto Momolu, on top of a black dress. Jett, who wore a black suit with a gold bowtie, posed in the following two photos with the birthday girl and “Bel-Air” actor Jabari Banks.

“What a wonderful night to celebrate a wonderful young Woman!! We had a magical night @marsaimartin and FAm,” Scott wrote in the caption.

In April 2009, Scott gave birth to her one and only child, Jett, whom she shares with her ex-fiancé and former drummer, John “Lil’ John” Roberts.

Fans in the comments section were gushing over the royal duo calling them, “Queen Jill and Prince Jett.” Others noted how much Jett has grown in the past 13 years.

“That first pic is everything.

“Look at that young fella coming into his own. You love to see it!

“Wow look how grown Jet is!!!! Hey Jill.”

“He is definitely your twin.”

“JILLY!! He’s a beautiful reflection of you! Love y’all!”

Scott and Roberts announced their engagement at a 2008 Carnegie Hall performance in New York. They called it off two months after their son’s arrival, but Scott said she has never considered herself a single mother.

“I never really considered myself a single parent because I was blessed to have a village of family and friends who love us and assist in every way to help him become a really kind person and a genuine person,” she explained on “The Tamron Hall Show” in December 2020.

The “First Wives Club” star said her son has several male figures in his life that teach him “they remind him of what manners are supposed to be. They remind him to take out the trash and celebrate him for doing these things.” She added, “What I don’t want is to end up with somebody 40 years old living in my basement, you understand?”
