Jennifer Hudson’s son, David Otunga Jr. recently turned 13 years old, his EGOT-winning mother wasted no time in celebrating her son by throwing him an epic birthday party.
In a series of photos and videos, Jennifer Hudson shared special moments from her son’s party on Instagram which included everyone singing “Happy Birthday” to him as requested by Ms. JHud herself, “in their happiest voice,” along with David posted up side-by-side next to his mom as they both smiled behind his enormous birthday cake.
“Can the entire team Jhud and the world stop what you are doing and wish my son a very happy 13th bday on today!!! I officially have a teenager!! Wow!!! Turn up my baby!!! I will forever celebrate you! #DoJ13.”
Fans swarmed the comments to wish the new teenager a happy birthday whilst not believing how fast time is flying by.
“Wow, happy birthday to your baby! Can’t believe he’s so big!”
“He grew up on us! Happy birthday David!”
“And he got his braces off!? Ugh, Happy birthday!”
Jennifer shares her son with ex-fiancé, former WWE wrestler-turned-actor David Otunga. Otunga also shouted out David Jr. in two different instagram posts wishing him a happy birthday.
“I’d say his first morning as a teenager is off to a great start! I can’t believe I have a teenager now. Geez! Happy 13th birthday best friend! We’re just getting started,” David Sr. wrote in his first post that showed David Jr. opening up a box that contained fresh pair of sneakers.
His second post was filled with descriptions of the different ways he and his family celebrated his son’s 13th birthday.
“We celebrated David’s 13th birthday exactly how we wanted, basketball game (game winning shot), a party with friends and family, then Lisi [Otunga’s sister] threw a joint birthday party with friends and family for David (Aug 10) and his two cousins, Olivia (Aug 11) and Kylee (Aug 13.) complete with scary movies on the big screen in Lisi’s backyard. We also learned that David shares a birthday with Peter Parker!”
Jennifer and David Sr. might not be together anymore, but they both made sure to give their son the best birthday he could ever imagine.
