‘That’s That THIQUE’: Rihanna Steps Out In an All-Black Ensemble for a Date Night with A$AP Rocky

Self-made billionaire Rihanna stepped out with her longtime partner and “Fashion Killa” rapper A$AP Rocky for what seemed to be a date night out.

RiRi stunted in an all black mini dress with an opened, long buttoned-up shirt overtop to give the look a little edge. The new mom strutted in black lace-up heels as she walked the streets of New York. Of course, Rih’s hair complemented her entire ensemble, as it was a long, straight jet black color tied into a half ponytail.

A$AP on the other hand rocked a casual ensemble which included oversized pants, a Kawasaki motocross jersey, and shades.

The Neighborhood Talk site got ahold of the paparazzi photos and uploaded them onto their page, where fans couldn’t contain their adoration for Rihanna’s entire look.

“Legs, hips, and body body [heart eyes]”

“Mama Ri looks so beautiful.”

“She been looking too mf good!”

“That’s that THIQUE.”

In July, The “California King Bed” singer made her first public appearance after giving birth to the pair’s first child, a baby boy, back in May. She was seen attending Crystal Palace in London, England, in support of Rocky being the headlining act.

She first announced her pregnancy at the end of January after uploading photos that revealed her bump onto Instagram. The snow-filled photoshoot showed Rih wearing a long pink jacket with colorful jewels in NYC as she stood beside A$AP; who is originally from Harlem.

The longtime friends have had undeniable chemistry with each other for years, while fans have always speculated there was something more going on between the two, it wasn’t until November 2020 when rumors of their relationship began. In May 2021, A$AP confirmed Rihanna was “the love of my life.” A few months later, the two made their red carpet debut at the 2021 Met Gala.

Independent journalism still matters.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
