According to TMZ, Big Boi filed for divorce in April and claimed in legal documents that there was “no reasonable hope of reconciliation” with Sherlita. At the same time, the “Roses” rapper noted that the pair has been living separately for quite some time. The news outlet also reported that the court had entered the final divorce decree last month.

The documents stated that the exes wanted to keep the split amicable between both parties, so they reportedly agreed not to slander or threatened “injury, maltreating, molesting, harassing, harming, or abusing.”

The reactions toward Big Boi and Sherlita’s split were mixed as the news circulated online. While some individuals were happy that the pair decided to go their separate ways quietly, others expressed how sad they were.

“And this is how you keep it cute and classy! Divorces don’t have to be messy. They get it!!”

“As long as it’s amicable I’m good.”

“At least it’s a clean break up and they aren’t spewing venom to the public about each other.”

“Oh wow. U never know what a relationship really like behind closed doors. I didn’t see this for them.”

“This is so sad!! Marriages are not lasting for whatever reason.”

This isn’t the first time Sherlita and Big Boi have split. In 2013, Sherlita filed for divorce, stating that their marriage at the time was “irretrievably broken.” In the documents, she demanded financial support and full custody.

The following year, Big Boi responded by requesting joint custody of their then 12-year-old son, and claimed that Sherlita was physically capable of taking care of herself.

Sherlita and Big Boi would ultimately reconcile in 2014. In 2016, the pair signed a postnuptial agreement that would separate their assets and debts.

No additional details regarding Big Boi and Sherlita’s divorce have been released at this time.
