Fans are calling out Lamar Odom for wanting to rekindle a relationship with his ex-Taraji P. Henson. The two dated for months before the former NBA player began seeing reality star Khloé Kardashian. Odom and Khloé wed within one month of dating in 2009.
The “College Hill: Celebrity Edition” star recently compared both of his exes during an interview with Page Six and his co-star, Nene Leakes. The 42-year-old called her a “cool girl” and said he was excited to run into the actress as the BET Awards she was hosting in Los Angeles last weekend, and he hopes to “shoot my shot again.”
When asked what ex he would consider reuniting with Odom replied, “Taraji…because she’s Black.”
Leakes, who was less than enthused with his response, said, “No that’s not even…he just made that up.”
Odom playfully insisted, “Because I love Taraji. It’s a love thing.” He continued on comparing the “Proud Mary” actress to his reality star ex-wife.
“I think the difference between Taraji and Khloe is how they grew up,” he explained. “Their upbringing, which makes people different. How they view things and see things.” He added, ‘I think she might be more skillful as an actress compared to what Khloé does.”
Lamar Odom and Khloé Kardashian tied the knot one month after dating in Sept. 2009. Their married crumbled for numerous reasons, including Odom’s infidelity and abusive drug habit. His 2011 departure from the Los Angeles Lakers and a brief stint with the Dallas Mavericks also likely added to its demise. The former “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” stars split in 2013 and finalized their divorce in 2016.
When asked if his marriage tarnished his basketball legacy, Odom said, “No, because I was already a legend to basketball way before Khloé.”
The Neighborhood Talk shared the news on Instagram, where fans in the comments section had a lot to say about Odom’s remarks. Many disagreed with the idea of him dating the “Acrimony” star.
“He’s desperate.”
“She a virgo, she not gone double back.”
“Has he watched any of her movies? He should know not to even bring that mess to her doorstep.”
“Taraji is not an afterthought. Bye man.”
“Not because you saw my sis on the BET Awards, stop it. Go to bed Lamar.”
A handful of fans were upset with the basketball legend for circling back to one ex after a failed marriage with another. One person said, “To have me fumble me & think you can spin the block is too crazy.”
Another wrote, “Sir neither one wants you. Please move on and enjoy your candy. A third advised, “RUN, Taraji RUN.”
Some say Odom lost his chances after an unexpected incident that took place on the competition series “Celebrity Big Brother.” One individual said, “The fact that he thinks Taraji would even look in his direction after he [s–t emoji] himself on national TV tho?”
Another commentator said, “Lamar. Just heal, baby.”
Khloé Kardashian was constantly brought up on CBS’ “Celebrity Big Brother” earlier this year. In a viral clip from one episode, Odom admitted he defecated in his bed.
“I just let the world know that I took a s–t in my bed,” the contestant said as he walked into the bathroom. A female contestant showering nearby replied, “No, you didn’t.”
“I did,” Odom reiterated. “I had to clean it up in front of the world.”
But ye have little faith, as one optimistic individual has hope for Taraj and Lamar’s future together. One person wrote, “For some odd reason I can see Taraji falling for it tho lol.”
