Comedian Chris Tucker is starting to feel his age, but it’s not because he put on a few pounds or has a couple of gray hairs. It’s because his son has beaten him in a game of hoops.
The Def Comedy Jam alum took to social media to share a very personal moment of rite of passage: the first time his adult son Destin Christopher Tucker whupped him on the basketball court.
He says in a video, where he admits defeat to the 24-year-old, “You know I fed him all his life. You know… he grow up and he beat his daddy like that?”
“I mean, is this what life is about? Is this what happens? I remember holding the boy in my arms, burping him, and now he burping me, taking me to the hole! I don’t like it.”
“I’m getting old. He’s getting better, that’s the way of the world,” he says as he tosses the ball to the hoop and misses.
Fans commented on the funny moment, with some parents saying they feel his pain.
Someone wrote, encapsulating the sentiment of many of his peers, “He verbalising what most parents feel.”
A few fans took note of his “old school porno mustache,” while others could not get past him not making the throw at the end of the clip, writing, “the miss said it all”
The marvel of it all had lifelong Tuckerites empathizing with a star they watched grow up since he was in his early 20s.
Some didn’t care about him feeling every part of 50 and just want to see more of “Rush Hour” funny man.
Wood_BTN wrote, “That’s wonderful n all but when we gone get another film wit you in it ???”
“Can you imagine if did the Friday sequels?” another person asked.
During this Holy Week, the man who made the “Friday” franchise a must-see for a certain generation, has been appearing in quite a few sightings.
One young fan shared he made a special guest appearance at his school.
In another instance, he tried to trick a fan who saw him sitting outside a store. The fan asked if he was “Chris Tucker” and at first, he denied it. When he saw the fan was not going for the okey-doke, he extended his hand and gave a gracious smile.
Tucker might have lost a little pride when his son whupped him on the court, but nothing can knock him down from the high regard so many have for him.
