Tracee Ellis Ross recently opened up about what she will be missing in 2022 as the cast and crew of the hit show “black-ish” will be wrapping up its eighth and final season this month. Ross says she will miss her TV family the most.
Ross took to Instagram to announce the bittersweetness of the show’s last season premiering on Jan. 4. “What a delight it’s been to leap, stretch and grow with you these past 8 years, @anthonyanderson. The rapport we have as Mr & Mrs. Johnson was apparent from the start. Most importantly, we’ve never let each other fall. You are the absolute best TV husband a gal could ever ask for, Pherny. The @blackishabc farewell season premieres 2 weeks from tomorrow—Tuesday, Jan 4 at 9:30/8:30c! Come see how it all ends 😢🖤”
The message was posted alongside Ross and her TV hubby Anthony Anderson’s audition tape. Not long afterward she tagged two of her TV children, Miles Brown and Marsai Martin, in another video post of them throughout the eight years on the show. She even opened up to ET about her time with the three actors on the show.
“I think I”m just going to miss the kids and Anthony. The kids have just become these beautiful human beings. It was an honor when we started, they were so talented. But they’ve become family,” Ross said. Yara Shahidi and Marcus Scribner round out the rest of the on-screen family. She truly enjoyed watching all four of the kids grow up right before her eyes.
Ross will not be leaving the show emotionally empty-handed after the bond and connection she has made over the years with her “black-ish” family. She made sure she didn’t walk away without, literally, taking any sort of souvenir. “Took some clothes. Walked out with my wardrobe as much as I could get.”
