Will Smith has his fans very confused after his recent appearance on the BBC “The One Show.”
The actor spoke on the show to promote his upcoming film “King Richard,” which is inspired by the story of Richard Williams, a dedicated father training his daughters, Venus and Serena Williams, to become some of the best tennis players ever. In the Nov. 17 interview, Smith looked relatively like himself but there was still something a bit off about him to fans.
He was wearing a grey, white and purple plaid suit, a purple dress shirt and a dark purple tie. For a finishing touch, he added a green jewel to the suit. Smith wore his recognizable bright smile during the interview, however, his fans were not buying it and were still left scratching their heads.
Taking a screenshot from the interview, one Twitter user tweeted, “Will smith looks like a Pixar version of himself. Wtf. Had to get the program info up on the one show to make sure it was actually him.”
Some fans began to work together on Twitter to try to figure out what it is that they can all clearly see but don’t have a clear answer about. Some noticed that Smith’s facial hair looked different than how he normally wears it. Responding to another person who mentioned having watched the talk, one fan said, “I’m watching thinking the same thing – I can’t work it out. Is it the lack of moustache?”
Smith typically wears low-cut hair and a goatee, but in the interview the mustache is not there and the Grammy Award-winning rapper is only sporting the bottom part of the goatee. This is not the only time fans have mentioned their concerns about Smith’s new facial hair look because this particular interview didn’t make for the first time he’d sported it.
He rocked this new appearance in the interview with Oprah Winfrey on “The Oprah Conversation,” and in his “TODAY Show” interview with Hoda Kotb.
“Will Smith having a goatee with no mustache is really bothering me,” wrote a fan.
“Will Smith amazing actor but he know he ain’t supposed to be doing that beard with no mustache,” said another.
But despite their disapproval of the look, it seems like it’s here to stay. Well…at least until his facial hair starts to grow back.
