‘Nobody Can Come Next to Me’: La La Anthony Is Open to Dating But Her Son May Not Be on Board

La La Anthony is ready to step back into the dating world as she and her soon-to-be ex-husband, Los Angeles Lakers baller Carmelo Anthony, move forward with their divorce.

The 39-year-old television personality opened up about being ready to try her luck at love again following the ending of her 11-year marriage to the NBA star. During the release of her first fashion collaboration with PrettyLittleThing, the former “Power” actress was all smiles when asked about what’s next for her in the love department.

“Who doesn’t wanna be in love?! I mean hey, I’m single! So we’ll see, we’ll see what happens,” she told “Entertainment Tonight” with a laugh.

As for what type of guy could catch her eye, the “Think Like a Man” actor is looking for a no-stress, drama-free kind of connection. “Somebody that I can have fun with. Somebody that I can laugh with, have a good time with,” she listed. “Just someone that is chill and easy because that’s pretty much my personality.”

Anthony won’t be looking to her and Carmelo’s son Kiyan, 14, for a stamp of approval on any guy she dates, however, because, according to her, “he’s too protective.”

“Oh no he’s too protective, he is not a good wingman,” Anthony joked. “Nobody can come next to me when my son is around at all.”

While “The Love Playbook” author appears to be softening to the thought of coming around to putting herself back out there, she still doesn’t think getting married again is in the cards for her. “Marriage, I don’t think I can do that ever again,” she told radio personality Angie Martinez during an interview in October. “I mean some, like, amazing person would have to come. I don’t see that happening again. But I don’t know what God has in store for me.”

With the launch of her size-inclusive line, La La joins a long list of PrettyLittleThing celebrity brand ambassadors and collaborators, including Lil Kim, Teyana Taylor, Saweetie, Ashanti, Jordyn Woods, Karrueche and more.
