50 Cent and Taraji P. Henson have somewhat of a rocky history with the rapper constantly coming after the actress over their respective two drug-related television shows.
Over the years, 50 Cent has exuded his trolling ways onto Henson, not because she did anything directly to him but because, according to him, his show “Power” and her show “Empire” had similar promotion and backgrounds. More recently, the New York native claimed Raquel Thomas, a lead character in his spin-off series “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” was “knocking” Henson’s “Empire” character “out the box.”
Patina Miller, the woman who plays Thomas spoke up and thanked 50 for his compliments, but also urged him to not compare the two fierce women. Now it looks like the “Window Shopper” artist has had a change of heart. Not only did he delete his previous post comparing Miller’s and Henson’s characters, he also said in a recent interview with The Grio that he would like to work with Henson.
When asked by the interviewer who he would like to see on his “Power” franchise, he said, “I like Taraji. You know how you play a defining character and you can’t escape it. A lot of people, when you think Taraji, you think “Baby Boy,” but that was 20 years ago. That’s how much work she put in since then until now.”
Continuing on, he explained Henson’s Yvette character in “Baby Boy” was her breakout role and then mentioned Miller. “For Patina,” he said, “raising Kanan was her breakout role.” He ended his statement by saying, “Watch, they going to be calling her “Raq” for the rest of her career.”
Fans reacted to 50 Cent’s comments. One person said, “He knows what he is doing,” and another one wrote, “He secretly loves Taraji i knew it 😂.”
Another person said, “He been trying to get her attention that’s why he always messing with her! If you wanted her on Power you should’ve said that 😂.”
Henson has yet to respond to any of 50’s recent shenanigans, but this is not the first time he has mentioned wanting to work with her. Because she hasn’t responded, it’s not clear if she would be open to working with the “Many Men” rapper.
