Lamar Odom responded on Wednesday, July 14, to Tristan Thompson‘s drug reference — to the former Lakers player’s nearly-fatal 2015 overdose — left under Khloe Kardashian’s comments section five days earlier. Odom talked about the post during an interview with “The Megan Pormer Show.” Odom’s response comes days after both men reacted to Kardashian’s steamy bikini photo.
Thompson said after Odom called the reality TV star and mother of one a “hottie,” “God brought you back the first time. Play if you want, different results.”
In the clip, Odom disclosed that he wishes Thompson the best, despite the Boston Celtics player’s initial comments. “He don’t really know me, cause that could’ve really turned ugly. “
Odom went on to list the similarities the two men share besides being Kardashian’s exes. “He’s a black man; he’s in the NBA, so we are fraternity brothers at the end of the day. I’ll just leave it there. He made a mistake by saying that … If I got rattled or bothered by words or that someone said about me, my armor’s built up to deflect that. I wish him the best.”
As the recording transitions, the 41-year-old also shared his thoughts on Thompson and Kardashian’s on-and-off relationship stemming from infidelity on Thompson’s part. “I’ve been down that road before so I wasn’t one to judge — still not one to judge on how he tends to treat a woman. I wish it didn’t have to be that woman. I am a man, so I guess I can understand.”
Immediately after Odom’s interview started circulating on social media, many people poked fun at the situation. Some even claimed that Odom was throwing shade at Thompson.
