‘Being Rich Is a Different Flex’: Nick Cannon Celebrates Birth of His Seventh Child By Sending One ‘Kid’ to Kevin Hart as Birthday Prank

Nick Cannon sent his “best frienemy” and “Real Husbands of Hollywood” co-star Kevin Hart a hilariously confusing birthday gift, and the comedian’s reaction was priceless.

Hart celebrated his 42nd birthday on July 6 and was surprised when a living, breathing llama was sent to his home “for a few hours” by the “Wild N’ Out” host, who recently welcomed his seventh child into world and wanted to spread some of that joy to Hart.

The “Laugh at My Pain” comedian shared videos of himself attempting to understand his animal gift, which both baffled and tickled him. In one of the videos, the “Jumanji” actor asks if the llama can sit or do any tricks, and the animal’s handlers read a personalized note sent by Cannon explaining the gift, which he also reiterated in Hart’s comments.

“I love you man!!! I’m having all these new kids I figured you should have a new kid too!!” exclaimed Cannon. “Welcome Lucky The Llama to the family!! #SaveTheDrama4YourLlama 🦙🤣”

Hart was a good sport about the adorable gag, which he joked was “the most childish s**t I’ve ever seen in my life” and declared the unexpected present a kick-off to a birthday gift war. “You have no idea what you’re in store for. I’m going to send a f*****g orangutan to you. Just wait,” he threatened.

Cannon’s exotic animal gift to Hart simultaneously cracked fans up and made them realize they needed to level up in their own lives.

“rich pranks”

“Send him back some condoms Kevin and a tutorial on how to pullout 🥱😂”

“Being rich is a different flex! I gotta get my money right 😭”

“The Lama looking like “I can get use to this”😂”

“Real Husbands of Hollywood” aired from 2013 to 2016 and left fans wanting more after it was abruptly not renewed for a sixth season. But rumors have been swirling that the show is planning to make a return after a lengthy hiatus.

Cannon welcomed the birth of his seventh child this month, his fourth this year. His decision to be fruitful and multiply is a deliberate one, as he recently told City Girls member JT that “I’m having these kids on purpose, I don’t have no accident.”

Independent journalism doesn't fund itself.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
