Although Valentine’s Day has passed, fans are still reminiscing on what Michael B. Jordan did for Lori Harvey. While fans oohed and aahed over Jordan surprising Lori by renting out an aquarium, Lori’s father Steve Harvey was not so easily impressed.
Steve made a guest appearance on “The Jimmy Kimmel Live Show” on Thursday, Feb. 25, where he was asked his thoughts about Jordan’s less-than-ordinary gesture. At the 10:38 mark of the interview, Harvey said, “Yeah, well, good luck, homie ’cause you know, Valentine’s come every year, I don’t know if you know how this works or not, but I don’t know how you gon’ top that. But good luck, partner.”
He continued, “It was really nice what he did; I’m happy for him. He’s a great guy. I met his father and everything. But, that was a lot, that was a lot. I don’t know where he’s going from, from here. Maybe he will make Creed 4,5, and 6,” referencing Jordan’s franchise movie “Creed,” which has been confirmed for a third sequel.
Kimmel went on to ask Steve, “Do you think it’s a good idea for someone who’s dating one of your daughters to first read your relationship books.” Letting out a short sigh, Steve replied, “I think it’s better if my daughters would read the damn book. That would be the smarter move.”
Steve later alluded that he actually approved of Jordan dating his daughter, saying “When your kids grow up, they can make decisions on their own … I’m just happy that I can at least approve of one.” When Kimmel asked if he didn’t approve of “the previous suitors,” Steve said with a serious face, “Nothing ever. Pure hatred.”
It has yet to be confirmed how Lori and Jordan met and when exactly they started dating. But dating rumors sparked after the two were coming off a flight together in Atlanta a day before Thanksgiving. The lovebirds went Instagram official a few days after New Year’s Eve.
