Martell Holt and his estranged wife Melody Holt’s conversation regarding their business affairs turned sour on Feb. 13 during an episode of “Love and Marriage: Huntsville.” Instead of talking about how the pair would equally split the business ventures that include a skin care brand, the former couple argued about Martell’s infidelity.
The reality star said while discussing how he was always “there” for Melody despite his failures, “Through it all, I’ve always been there. I’ve never left the house. I’ve always come home at a decent hour, 6, 7 o’clock. I’ve always been there for my children.”
The mother of four interrupted by saying, “You were good at cheating, You were good at it — OK, round of applause. You were good at cheating. Covering it up for years, absolutely. I will give you that.”
Martell then threw jabs back at his estranged wife by accusing her of having an affair as well, something she adamantly denied. “What’s more amazing is that you are more better than me because you found out about me. I never found out about you.”
The 39-year-old further elaborated during a confessional that the duo aren’t together but are still legally married, although they live in separate homes.
Melody confirmed she was talking to other people, but that was after she decided to leave Martell. “Did I have a couple of people that I talk to entertain a little bit, have phone conversations with, and things? Yeah, absolutely, but I wasn’t living under the same roof with him. I actually wasn’t planning on being with him ever again. So that’s the difference between what Martell Holt has chosen to do and what Melody has done.”
Many “LAMH” fans bashed Martell for his actions, and some called him a narcissist.
“Narcissism at its finest… this man something else.”
“He NEVERRRR takes accountability for his actions. He always blames someone else for HIS choices.”
“How she managed to stay married to him and make four kids with him is beyond me.”
A follower referencing a scene from the show said, “Buddy had the audacity to say he came home at a decent time tf.”
“I am so disgusted by a narcissist he sickens me.”
The initial business conversation was going well until things took a turn for the worse after the former couple began discussing Mbrace Beauty, which was incorporated in 2018. Martell became visibly upset when Melody said she wasn’t splitting any profits from the beauty line.
“Mbrace Beauty, it was an agreement with 15 percent, and then you said I don’t think you have anything. I’m saying how could you say that I would not get anything out of a company that I helped bring about, why would you do that to me?”
He added, “I trusted you with everything, with every dime, like, I would give it to you to make sure you make the right decisions with my last dime. … I bring check, yeah, that was all the money, the effort, the time that I put in, and that you put in behind you to push the brand of Melody Holt.”
The 39-year-old credited himself for helping Melody build the company from the ground up, and went as far as to bash her former profession as a teacher. “Remiss if you wasn’t doing what you’re doing now because we put so much time, money, and effort behind you and your brand over all these years.” The entrepreneur interrupted to remind her estranged husband that she had been branding her products on social media before everything, and he snapped back, “You ain’t been branding, you was a damn schoolteacher.”
When Melody realized their bickering was leading nowhere, she decided to pack up and walk away, leaving the issues unresolved.
Last October, Melody, responding to some unspecified provocation from her husband, said during an Instagram Live that Martell was expecting a baby by another woman.
“I filed for divorce, and you told me you had a baby on the way. You told me you had a baby on the way and she wasn’t getting rid of it because she’s gotten rid of kids for y’all before and she wasn’t doing it this time. So why are you even bothering me? So I’m asking you now, just leave me alone.”
The real estate developer filed for divorce after 12 years of marriage months before the initial video.
