La La Anthony thought she was doing a little something sexy for her fans on Valentine’s Day, but was in for the kind of rude awakening that only the internet can supply.
The 39-year-old reality star and actress shared a video of herself in her Instagram Stories on the holiday vibing to Beyoncé’s “Dance For You” while sprawled out on the floor and displaying an intricate braid pattern that spells out her name.
The “Power” actress also showed off her curves while moving around in a bralette top and matching leggings from Bey’s upcoming Icy Park release of her Ivy Park athleisure wear line.
If La La and her husband, 36-year-old NBA player Carmelo Anthony, spent the lovers’ holiday together, they both kept it on the low. The pair has weathered a tumultuous relationship together since their 2010 wedding, facing cheating rumors and multiple separations, and most recently deciding to buckle down and quarantine together in California at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic for the well-being of their son, Kiyan, 13.
“I was like, ‘[New York] is not the place to quarantine at anymore. It’s time to go!'” she told Access Hollywood Daily. “So I grabbed some of my nieces, family members, Kiyan — and we came out west to do this quarantine together. Melo — he’s here somewhere.”
During the check-in, she stated that the arrangement was working out well and that her highlight was seeing her son happy. “It has actually been smooth sailing,” she said. “And to see my son so happy, even in the midst of what’s going on in the world; to me is what’s important and what matters to me. I feel really great about that.”
Since then, the two have largely kept their relationship status private, although the Portland Trailblazers star did recognize his anniversary on social media in July 2020, which was received about as well as La La’s personalized ponytail.
While the “Think Like a Man” actress’ video did stir up feelings within fans, it’s safe to say they weren’t exactly the ones Anthony was going for.
“This is awkward.”
“she said ‘let me grab all my braided pony tails and make this video real quick'”
“Girl if you don’t get up from the floor…”
“I’m sure the idea sounded good on paper, 🥴It’s her putting down extra pieces of hair & her ponytail not being connected for me 😂😂 I definitely still love her tho 💕”
“Her neck stiff af 😂 body just squirming and shit”
Icy Park drops Feb. 19, and will be the Brown Skin Girls singers’ third release of fresh designs from the line in less than six months.
