‘I Won’: Mike Hill Reminisces Over the Day He Met Cynthia Bailey as They Count Down to Their Wedding

It’s the one-day countdown to the exchanges of “I do” between Fox Sports1 sportscaster Mike Hill and reality star Cynthia Bailey of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”

Hill took to the ‘Gram earlier in the week with a flashback video of him and Bailey on “The Steve Harvey Show” in 2018 when Harvey connected the two through his show segment “Steve’s Dating Pool.” At the time, Bailey asked him his most attractive quality.

Hill responded by saying his personality and how he would like to put a smile on Bailey’s face, and, sure enough, he did.

“Who knew? God did!!” Hill captioned the throwback video. “At the end of the day, that’s the only One who matters. I won this, btw!! I WON!! 10-10-2020,” he concluded.

Fans gushed over Hill’s excitement to marry the lady of his life and wished the pair the best of luck as they cross over to husband and wife.

“I remember watching this episode like yesterday. So happy for you both. God Wins! God bless your union🙏🏾😍😍😍.”

“Amazing! ❤️🙏🏾! Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness!”

“Love, love Mike Hill! I pray you and Cynthia grow old together in Jesus’ name 🙏.”

“I love that phrase; stay positive, have faith, and live your life to the fullest. You never know where God is going to show up!👏 This just uplifted my spirit. Thanks 🤗.”

“You guys really love each other ❤️❤️❤️continue to cover them, Jesus.”

“This is so inspiring!!! 😢 Congrats, Mike!!!! 🙏🏾💪🏾🙌🏾🖤.”

Bailey originally posted the throwback video, writing, “5 more days💍 some days I still can’t believe that in January 2018 (the show was aired April 2018), I met my now fiancé @itsmikehill through my friend @iamsteveharveytv on his dating pool,” she wrote.

“Honestly, I was initially reluctant to do the dating pool but was at a point in my life where for once, I just decided to not overthink everything, have fun, and go for it,” she continued.

Bailey concluded by encouraging people having thoughts about giving up on love to “Stay positive, have faith, and live your life to the fullest. You never know where God is going to show up🙏🏽❤️💍.”

The pair became engaged in July 2019. Fans will finally see Bailey marry her happily ever after, following her divorce from Peter Thomas in 2017.

The couple will marry October 10, 2020 at an estate outside of Atlanta.

Still independent.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
