Tia Mowry-Hardrict just drastically switched up her hair, changing out her short natural lengths for long wavy hair extensions for the summer. The 42-year-old actress debuted her new look in a Tuesday, Aug. 11 Instagram photo.
Tia looked fabulous in a selfie that showed her wearing a vibrant pink blazer over a white tank top. The mother of two rocked different shades of gold eyeshadow with winged eyeliner and false eyelashes. She tied her appearance together with gold hoop earrings and a silver necklace. Tia posed for the photo by smizing at the camera and slightly pursing her lips. “Who’s that girl? La la la la la la la! Had to switch it up for a minute.❤️💕,” she wrote in her caption.
Some people went berserk over her fresh hairstyle and wrote comments such as “Yessss long hairrrrr 😍😍😍” and “Ooh fire on the switch up!😍😍.” But another fan compared Tia’s appearance to her character Melanie Barnett from “The Game,” asking “Is that Girl Melanie?👀.”
The fan’s comment came nearly two weeks after Netflix announced that it will begin streaming a series of classic African-American sitcoms from the ’90s and 2000s, including “Moesha,” “The Game,” “Sister Sister,” “Girlfriends,” “The Parkers,” “Half & Half,” and “One on One.”
Considering Tia underwent the big chop in February, her new look may have come as a surprise. She explained in an interview with Harper’s BAZZAR magazine that she damaged her signature “Sister Sister” curls after she continued to straighten her hair. She then went on to reveal that she felt better after cutting her tresses. “A lot of people say you hold energy in your hair, you hold energy in your body. And I’m telling you, since doing it, I feel just lifted and feel lighter,” she said.
