‘I Wanna See My Scalp’: Tiffany Haddish Shares the Reason Behind Cutting Off Her Faux Locs on Social Media

Tiffany Haddish recently did the big chop and some people expressed the idea that she was suffering from a mental breakdown. On Tuesday, July 7, the 40-year-old comedian, who has been rocking faux locs during her shelter-in-place life, cut off all her hair in an Instagram Live video.

During the Live stream, Tiffany smiled as she snatched a pair of scissors and started snipping away at her braids. The “Girls Trip” actress explained in her video caption that she chopped her locks because she wanted to see the hidden parts of her head. She wrote: “I cut all my hair off cause I want to see my Scalp . I know my whole body I know where every mole is but I don’t know my Scalp. So hello Sclap #SheReady to everything.”

Shortly after she cut her faux locs and fans accused her of going through a crisis, Tiffany shared another video on Instagram that showed her addressing the speculation. “I’m not at complete process right now I’m in the midst of getting…I want all this off OK,” she said while rubbing her head at the 00:13 mark.

“I’mma cut all of it off. Ni-ggas is like ‘somebody go check on sis. Somethin’ wrong with her. What’s wrong with her mentally? She done lost it.’ Why when a woman decides ‘hey I’m gonna cut this hair off because I wanna see my scalp’ she gotta have a mental problem?”

She added: “Nothing is wrong with my brain, you guys. I’m not suffering from no emotional sh-t, nothing. I literally been talking about this for years — how I wanna see my scalp. I know every single part of my body. I know where every single mole is. Anybody that’s ever done my hair has heard me say it!”

Tiffany than proceeded to give a shoutout to celebrity hairstylist Oscar James. “What up Oscar! Hey boo! Anybody that knows me knows me knows I’ve been talking about this for a long time, OK. Now Precious went to go get some clippers so she can even it out,” she said of a friend of hers. “But um.. and when I get back to LA I’m getting it all cut because I want to see my moles. OK. I have..I’ve been countin’. I have almost 100 moles all over my body.”

The California native went on to express that she still looks beautiful with short hair despite what other people believe. “When we cut all of my hair off, I’mma still be fine as f-ck,” she said at the 1:26 mark before insinuating that men are still sexually attracted to her. “N-ggas is still gon’ try to f-ck. Guys don’t worry.” Tiffany concluded her message by explaining that her hair will grow back and sharing that she was happy to take a shower without worrying about her hair getting wet.

Her friend Precious later used a pair of clippers to shape up her head.
