Actress Gabrielle Union and retired Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade’s daughter Kaavia James Union Wade, aka “Shady Baby,” is back to her social media shenanigans. Her parents caught it all on tape.
Union posted a video on June 26 of her toddler dancing to reggae music in her floral pajamas.
“@kaaviajameswade is always down for a dance break. 👼🏾👼🏾👼🏾🤣🤣#KaavAlwaysOnBeat #BlackBabyJoy,” the 47-year-old actress captioned the video.
The former NBA player could be heard encouraging his daughter in the background as she bounced up and down to the beat while attempting to snap her little fingers.
“Get it, Kaav,” Wade said as the video finished.
Fans gushed over the 1-year-old’s bold personality and sophisticated dance moves.

This isn’t the first time Union and Wade showed off baby Kaavia’s dance moves for the ‘Gram. On Father’s Day she was chilling by the pool wearing her bathing suit, diaper, and life vest.
Before she could hop in the pool, she turnt up to Megan Thee Stallion’s hit record “Savage Remix” with Beyoncé.
“Happy Father’s Day. Turn Up!! @Kaaviajames man… 🤣🤣🤣 @Theestallion @Beyonce,” Union captioned the video.
Celebrity friends from actress Octavia Spencer, actress Essence Atkins, and writer/comedian Robin Thede of “A Black Lady Sketch Show” all commented under Union’s post, loving Kaavia dancing on the beat to what one fan called her “theme song.”
The couple welcomed their daughter on Nov. 7, 2018, via surrogate.
Last year, Union gave a video tribute to her daughter via Instagram with pics of her first stages of life and Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day” playing in the background.
Union revealed In the post how she was afraid of messing up motherhood but said that she’s doing her best to be the best mother she can to Kaavia.
“When I let go of my fears of judgement and just did my best and recognized that my best would and could change from day to day and life would magically go on… Man, I finally allowed myself to just enjoy you @kaaviajames and relax into the peace of imperfection,” Union wrote in part.
“1 year in and your whole village stays smiling. The family you know and all the cyber aunties and uncles you may never meet, we celebrate you.”
