Ciara showered her husband Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson with affection on the evening of Tuesday, June 16. The R&B singer posted a photo on Instagram of the NFL star and listed in her caption his non-physical attributes that made her fall head over heels in love.
In the photo, Russell was swimming in what appeared to be their backyard swimming pool. With a head full of wet hair, the 31-year-old Russell struck his pose by gazing at the camera. “Intelligent. Equipped. Strong. Capable. Resilient. Anointed. God Fearing. Loved. My Beautiful Black King 🖤,” Ciara wrote in the caption to describe the photo.
A few fans who reacted to the image reminded the “Promise” hitmaker that she forgot to mention her man’s good looks. One user wrote: “And he’s fine too sis 🙌🏾.” Another commentator agreed, and stated: “He really is beautiful tho #Ugogirl 😂❤️.”
Before Ciara walked down the aisle to marry Russell, she was previously engaged to rapper Future. Ciara and the “Life Is Good” artist started dating in 2013, and the former couple got engaged shortly after in October 2013. Ciara and Future called their relationship quits three months after their son Future Zahir Wilburn was born in 2014. The Texas native hinted in a 2019 interview with American drag queen RuPaul that she cried a lot before meeting her husband.
“Before I met my husband, I went through one of the most challenging phases of my life,” she said. “I was a single mom, and I had never been in that place before. That really made me stop and take a look back on the journey, and I was like, ‘Okay, I’ve gotta change something up here.’ ”
She added, “I’ve always been a person that’s prayed no matter what the circumstance is, but when I would pray at that point, I’d be very specific about what I was hoping for in my life as it related to love and also just me, my own growth. I was ready to level up in general, just in life in general, period. I was wanting a lot more from myself, and so I definitely would pray a lot. I would cry a lot, and then I would pray a lot, and God is good!”
Fans have openly asked Ciara to reveal the specific prayer she used to secure her happy and healthy relationship. “Love y’all relationship😩. So happy you’re not with Future anymore. You need to release what you manifested because I’m still searching for mine,” another user wrote under the image of Russell.
The couple got married in 2016 and have served as the epitome of “marriage goals” since. They share their 3-year-old daughter Sienna Princess Wilson and are expecting a baby boy together later this year.
