Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert Are Having Another Daughter, Announce News in New Music Video

Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert‘s family is expanding! The celebrity couple announced that they’re expecting their second daughter with the release of Taylor’s new music video titled “Wake Up Love.”

In the video, Teyana and her Brooklyn Nets shooting guard husband lay in bed while staring into each other’s eyes in a dream-like setting. As clouds envelop the couple while they lounge in bed, Teyana sings to her husband (who lays down a verse on the song as well), with the reveal of Teyana’s pregnant belly by herself, Iman, and their 4-year-old daughter Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr (bka Junie). closing out the three minutes and 38 seconds of feel-good visuals.

During the sweet reveal, Junie can be seen hugging and kissing her mom’s stomach. She’s also already taking on the protective big sister role as she playfully pushes her father’s hand away from Teyana’s belly in the video, which Taylor says is “Junie the whole time.” “What she did at the end of the video is Junie the whole time,” she told People. “She hogs the whole baby all the time. We were in the bed and loving on one another, and she jumped on the both of us like, ‘I’m here!’ It’s the cutest thing.”

The pair, who wed in 2016, are anticipating the newest addition to the family, and baby Junie is looking forward to being a big sister. “We’re ready, and we’re very excited,” Taylor said about the news. “Iman is super excited. Junie is ecstatic — I’m talking super ecstatic. Everybody is just excited. I can’t wait. I’ve got three more months left until we meet our little princess.”

Teyana announced the video’s release on her Instagram page with a heartfelt caption for Iman. “Though you are the love of my life, my king, my husband & an amazing father,” she wrote. “YOU ARE STILL A BLACK MAN FIRST, before anything. And that’s the risk I take as you leave my side and walk out the door every single day.”

“I could have lost you yesterday. I could lose you today,” she continued. “I could lose you tomorrow. The sadness of our planet has corrupted mankind’s ability to make empowering decisions. Darkened, but not by the sun; WE still stand up in assembly and cry for help.

Closing out her statement, Taylor reflects on her love and appreciation for the “protector” that Iman has become for their family. “For these are the reasons I have broken down my defenses; I hear you, I see you, I love you. You have adopted the role of being our protector. To our girls, the name father is another name for what we created, love. For I will never rue the love inside of my heart because I have a King to uphold and Queens to raise.”

While the couple is still deciding on names for their second daughter, they’re keeping it a family affair, and Junie has plenty of thoughts about what she wants to call her little sister. “Junie has a lot of ideas,” she said. “We want to keep her as involved as possible because Junie clearly thinks that this is her baby. She talks to my stomach all the time. It’s so good to see that.”
