Gemini season is in full effect, and Dr. Contessa Metcalfe just celebrated her birthday. The reality star of “Married to Medicine” turned 44 on Thursday, June 4. For the special occasion, her co-star Dr. Heavenly Kimes sent her a birthday wish on Instagram.
Metcalfe, a family practice physician, joined the cast of “M2M’ in season 5. At the time, Kimes and Metcalfe were not friends because their personalities clashed. The two mended their friendship in season 6, and Kimes gushed about their close bond in her caption. Kimes, a dentist, received over 10,000 likes and some 300 comments of people admiring their close friendship.

Although the pair are now close friends, they still bicker from time to time. During season 7, Metcalfe and her husband Dr. Scott Metcalfe got into a heated argument because Contessa was going back to school. She was traveling back and forth between Georgia and Tennessee for classes. The couple have three children together, so Scott had to take on more responsibilities in the household. Upset at his wife, Scott expressed that he felt like she was dropping the ball.
After the argument, Contessa sought out relationship advice from Kimes. Kimes told her, “You’ve got to take care of the marriage. It’s God, it’s family, then it’s everything else.” Kimes also insinuated that Contessa should stay in a woman’s place, expressing that she should be at home with her children.
While Kimes’ comments rubbed Dr. Contessa the wrong way, the dynamic duo made up shortly afterward.
