Amid widespread protests across the nation due to the Memorial Day death of 46-year-old Minneapolis resident George Floyd while in police custody, several celebrities are speaking out against racial injustice and police brutality.
R&B singer Ciara is among many using their social media platforms to speak out on the issue.
On Sunday, May 31, Ciara posted a message about unity and change to her 6-year-old son Future Zahir Wilburn by rapper Future, her ex-fiancé.
“My sweet Baby Boy. I pray that when you get older, A CHANGE will finally have come!! I’m going to keep my FAITH! I’m praying that the losses of our Black Kings and Queens won’t be in vain,” Ciara wrote with a photo of her and Wilburn smiling.
“Enough is Enough! I’m praying for UNITY! I’m praying for the powers that be to unite and decide that it’s time for a change! ❤️✊🏽🙏🏽,” she added.
Fans took to the songstress’s comments section to applaud her for her message of hope.

Among fans chiming in on Ciara’s post was her husband, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who is Wilburn’s stepdad.
“Young King. We need a change now. Enough is Enough,” Wilson wrote to his stepson.
Ciara and Wilson are expecting their first son together this year.
She and the NFL veteran share a daughter, 3-year-old Sienna Princess Wilson, whom the couple welcomed a year after they wed in 2016.
