It looks like Monica is single and ready to mingle.
After eight years of marriage with NBA star Shannon Brown, the “Angel of Mine” singer called it quits in March 2019 and filed for divorce. Since her split with her ex-husband, Monica has been keeping a low profile in the dating world. Although she suggested that she won’t be dating any time soon, the mother of three knows exactly what she’s looking for in her dream man.
In an Instagram live video with her good friend Tiny Harris on Monday, April 27, the “T.I. & Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle” star went into depth about what she wants in her next spouse.
“I acknowledge that I do need a lot of attention, but I give a lot,” Monica told Tiny. “I need an old-school man in the sense that you can call me hood, you can call me whatever you wanna call me. At the end of the day, I need somebody that’s still a gentleman. That’s why I work so hard with the boys to be gentlemen. I still want you to open the door! I still want you to pull up and pick me up sometimes! I still want you to play my favorite song. I still like all that!”
The “So Gone” singer continued, saying the next man she dates must be 32 years old and “up.”
Tiny later added her input in on the type of man Monica needs and said, “You need a very hip, thuggish — he gotta be a little street or you ain’t gon’ like him!” When she suggested that Monica should stay away from the 25-year-old to 30-year-old men, the R&B crooner replied, “A 25-year-old would turn me into a head-buster again!”
Monica’s live with Tiny triggered a mass of responses from her fans.
