‘This Warms My Heart!!’: Gabrielle Union and Daughter Kaavia Show Off Their Beautiful Curls on Instagram

Gabrielle Union and her 1-year-old daughter Kaavia James are one of our favorite mommy-daughter duos in the game, and a recent Instagram post featuring both beauties in their natural glory reminded us why (as if we could ever forget).

Union, 47, shared a carousel of images of herself and her expressive mini-me goofing around with their natural hair free and flourishing. The actress addressed the caption to her daughter, sharing her hopes that the post will reinforce the beauty of Black hair in her eyes as she continues to grow.

Union recently wrote her first children’s book, “Welcome to the Party,” which will be released May 5. She credits her daughter with inspiring her to create it, sharing her feelings in an Instagram post by writing, “Since the birth of @kaaviajames … I’ve been even more inspired to create stories that are not only representative of the cultural melting pot we live in, but also celebrate life and the fun, teachable lessons that come at every age.”
